Donations

On May 27, 2023, Gunfighters for Hire was honored to attend the first annual Sgt. Dominic Vaca Memorial fundraiser at the Yucca Valley High School.  Gunfighters for Hire presented a check to C.O.P.S. (www.ConcernsOfPoliceSurvivors.org) for $1,500.00. Accepting the check on behalf of C.O.P.S. was Captain Robert Warrick of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Morongo Basin Station.

Also in attendance was the surviving family of Sgt. Vaca. His wife, Valerie and their children, Angela and Makayla.  This event will apparently be held next year, date and location to be announced later.

On Dec. 26, 2022, Happy Trails Children’s Foundation Director Joel ‘Dutch’ Dortch was on hand in Pioneertown to receive a $500 check from the Gunfighters for the fabulous work that is done at the foundation.  It is ALWAYS a pleasure to have Dutch come to visit.  Other donations made during December were: Wounded Warrior Project for $50, Boys Town for $50, American Cancer Society for $50, Semper Fi Fund for $50 and John Wayne Cancer Foundation for $50.

[pic unavailable]   On Jan. 24, 2020, several important donations were made to various worthy organizations.  $100 to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation, $100 to the Wounded Warrior Project, $100 to the Semper Fi Fund and $200 to the American Cancer Society.  It goes without saying that these donations are because of the many visitors that come to the shows and donate into the little red buckets.  Whether it is a $1 or $20, anything helps and we appreciate everyone helping us help others.

Oct. 5, 2019, the Gunfighters were honored to present Happy Trails Children’s Foundation with a check for $500.  Presenting the check to Director Joel “Dutch” Dortch, on behalf of all the gunfighters, was Gunfighters for Hire President Dave Baird (L) and Media Officer Warren Horton (R).  The gunfighters want to thank all of the fantastic visitors that have made donations to Gunfighters for Hire, which help us help others.

April 13, 2019, members of Gunfighters for Hire (GfH) went to the Pioneer Living History Museum in Phoenix, Arizona to present a check for $200 to the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation. For the opening show for the 2018-2019 season, Happy Trails Children’s Foundation Director Joel “Dutch” Dortch came out on Oct. 6, to watch the show and receive a check from the Gunfighters for $500.  This donation is not possible without the many visitors from all over the world that come to watch the show and provide donations that we pass on to those that need our help.  From Left to Right: GFH Media Officer Warren Horton, “Dutch”, GFH President Dave Baird, Doug Oliver, Janis O’Brien, Norma Hilding, James Hilding, Mitch Robertson, Paul Davis, David McCoy.

On October 30, 2016, the kids came out to enjoy the show along with Joel Dortch from the Happy Trails Children’s Foundation.  After the final show for the 2016 performance season, Joel was presented with a $500 check.  From all the Gunfighters to Joel, Thank You for the work you do.  And a big thank you to everyone that came to visit and donate.  Your kind donations make this a reality in helping others.

On January 22, 2016, Joel “Dutch” Dortch was sitting in his office when ambushed by some Gunfighters and presented him with a check for $600 for the outstanding work that Happy Trails Children’s Foundation does for the kids they care for.  It is a tireless job that he does for the foundation and Gunfighters for Hire is always happy to do what we can to help.

On October 26, 2014, the Gunfighters for Hire cast presented a $500 check to Joel ‘Dutch’ Dortch, director of Happy Trails Children’s Foundation located in Apple Valley.  It  is always a pleasure to support such great organizations such as HTCF.  All of the Gunfighters continue to work tirelessly in order to entertain the thousands of visitors each year.  Without the generous visitors, there would be no donations.  We thank you for coming to watch the shows.

Without the time donated by each Gunfighter and the generous donations from the audience, such donations would not be possible.
